Yet another elderly driver ‘loses control’

A 75-year-old motorist driving through Wells mounted the pavement at The Liberty and struck a pedestrian, Frome magistrates heard last week. Alan Denham, of Boundary Close, Midsomer Norton admitted driving without due care and attention in his Vauxhall Vectra on July 22.

After a medical examination soon after the accident, Mr Denham's doctor concluded that he may well have fallen asleep at the wheel.

A 44-year-old man walking along the pavement sustained head and leg injuries when he was struck by the Vectra.
